Experts say that just like stomach crunches, foot exercise can shore up weak muscles that often lead to injury. The Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Centre at Orthopedic Hospital in the US has ceated a few simple exercises which are said to alleviate aches.

Big-toe pulls: Place a thick rubber band around your big toes and then pull them away from each other without moving your heels. This is said to provide relief for bunion pain and toe cramps. |

Ball roll: Massage the bottom of your foot by rolling it slowly from toe to heel over a ball (perferably the size of a golf ball) for two minutes. Done sitting or standing( one foot at a time), this is said to help ease heel pain, arch strain and foot cramps. |

Marble pickup: Place a dozen marbles on the floor. Using your foot, grip one marble at a time and put it away. Continue till you have picked all of them. Switch feet and repeat. This is said to relieve pain in the ball of the foot and toe cramps. |

Towel curls: Lift a small napkin or towel off the floor by curling your toes around it. Release and repeat five times on both feet. This is said to reieve toe cramps and pain in the ball of the foot. |
