How do I keep my feet dry (and presentable) now that it's going to rain?
Man's World, June 2003

There is very little available that is actually presentable and waterproof. Most of the major lines do offer rainproof footwear but most men complain that the water gets in anyway.

The trick is to figure your way around this thing. If you are deskbound, that's easy enough. Tuck a pair of socks into your briefcase, leave your shoes at work and wear floaters on the way. Once you are at the office, shuck the sandals and get into your shoes.

If you tend to be a roadie, things can get a little more complicated but we would suggest that you invest in a pair of good, all weather shoes and treat them carefully. After a good soaking, they should be dried carefully and polished with a wax-based polish, not the kind of stuff that you get out of a roll-on can. This means some effort (and it means an investment of a few thousands) but it is worth it since most people do notice how a man's feet are covered.
